Psychologist
As a psychologist what I really want to do is find out more about you and what might be getting in your way. This might involve developing new skills, exploring your thoughts, emotions, identity and experiences, or understanding the past. I use evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing. Psychodynamic ideas such as how our early experiences shape us in the present day also influence my approach. I enjoy helping people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, ADHD and trauma.
Prior to my life as a psychologist I worked in marketing and as a Rhythmic Gymnastics coach. In these roles what I most enjoyed was mentoring other professionals and seeing each person’s potential for growth and change. Those experiences led to me training in psychology. It also drives my interest in helping people navigate perfectionism and high performance environments.
